I’m about to take the kids out for some last minute shopping this afternoon. I need a Code Word for “Remember, we’re not looking for stuff for us, but a gift for Mom.” Suggestions? I’m leaning toward “Bumbles Bounce” or “Attaboy, Clarence.” Comments, please!

By now the presents have all been unwrapped. Some of the toys are already broken, and possibly some still need to be assembled. The tree is dropping needles like crazy and we’ve all eaten much too much food.

Was it a good Christmas? I hope so. I hope it was fun and joyous and memorable. Personally, I loved seeing the thrill of anticipation in Emily and Josiah’s faces – and then their excitement when they finally got to open their presents. Family, food, gifts – what’s not to love about Christmas?

The other day I heard a radio program interviewing professional Santas. They talked about an organization called FORBS, which stands for the “Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas.” If you don’t believe me, check them out for yourself HERE.

The interviewer talked with a number of these Santa pros, many of whom expressed disdain for those “fake Santas” who don’t have real beards. Kind of interesting that these guys – who are pretending to be Santa – look down on those “posers” who wear fake beards … (continue reading…)

My band and I just wrapped up a short series of Christmas shows with my friend Jaime Thietten, and we had a blast! Thanks to all of you who came out – and for those of you who didn’t, it looks like we may have a way for you to check it out too.

The final show was at Eagle Christian Church in the Boise, Idaho area, and the recording and film work turned out great! So … we’re considering releasing a DVD of the show. This would be a very limited edition – only available for a few weeks. More news to follow …
