Santa HeadphonesFor a couple of years I’ve polled you guys about your LEAST favorite Christmas songs (with some fun and sometimes surprising answers – see HERE).

This year, I’d like to consider the exact opposite: what are your FAVORITE Christmas songs? Select 5 from the following list of 30 favorites and we’ll see what rises to the top!

IdahoHoHo2012coverAnd just to make it more interesting, leave a comment after you take the poll and I’ll include your name in DRAWING TO WIN a copy of my Christmas CD “Bethlehem” along with the “IdahoHoHo 2012” CD that includes my Christmas duet with Jaime Thietten!

UPDATE: I’ve drawn a winner, and it is MIKE COOPER! Congratulations, Mike!!

Any songs you love that I missed? Anything here you’d like to never have to hear again? Well, that’s what the comments section is for…

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. Joyce Crider says:

I enjoy listening to any & all Christmas songs

  2. Dennis says:

O Holy Night but it has to be the Josh Groban version. Truly amazing!

  3. Amanda Mcfain says:

My favorite Christmas song is actually “All I want for Christmas is You.” Cheesy and non-traditional but so fun to sing along with.

  4. Paxton Tupper says:

I think this is a great way to put together the song list for your next Christmas album to make sure it’s a hot seller!

  5. Alisha Henrie says:

Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel is one of my all time favorites!

  6. Kim says:

Scott, my request is for you to sing the winner at our next service!! 🙂

  7. Charles says:

Voted! But you left off All I Want For Christmas is You.

  8. Diane Armstrong says:

Angels We Have Heard on High brings family to mind each Christmas season, whether my earthly family or the Family of God. I have one sister who is tone deaf, and she sings the song out with all her joy and delight, on pitch or not. It brings a great smile to my face as the song brings the richness of the Love of family to heart each time I hear the song.

  9. Serenity Crane says:

I always hated Little Drummer Boy until I heard Josh Groban’s version. Beautiful. And even if you are not a fan of his, his cover of What Child Is This is breathtaking.
As for songs I hate, there are several, but Mary Did You Know tops the list. Breath of Heaven is a close second.

  10. Jenn Wolf says:

What is “In the Bleak Midwinter”? Never heard of it. And how come no one’s voting for Away in a Manger?

  11. Marissa F. says:

    I love Christmas music!!

  12. Brenda says:

It’s so hard to choose!!! There are so many good ones.

  13. Leesa Adams says:

How about Bethlehem … I like that one!

  14. Cathi Comish says:

    It’s all good. 🙂

  15. Steve France says:

    You can’t beat Silent Night.

  16. Bill Manning says:

Let see, here are my opinions for some awesome remakes.
    1. Whiteheart – Little Drummer Boy
    2. Sandi Patty – O Holy Night
    3. Denver and the Mile High Orchestra – Frosty the Blues Man (entire Christmas album is awesome)
    4. The Winans – Silent Night
    5. Lincoln Brewster – Miraculum
Of course there are others. The classic that will live on for eternity of course is Charlie Browns Christmas.

  17. Leilla Sivey says:

Personally, you missed one of my favorites. All I want for Christmas is a Hippopotamus. A classic!

  18. Mark French says:

I love Christmas songs, I can listen to them in the middle of summer. As a child I would listen to Christmas songs and a few of them would allow me to drift off into a fantasy like world in my mind.

  19. Leslie Ryan says:

    I also love Handels Messiah

  20. Danielle Bowman says:

Oy Super hard to narrow it down to just five songs just so you know 🙂

  21. Tona Henderson says:

    I love your Christmas songs!

  22. Carl Douthit says:

We lived for 4 years in the midwest. And although there is a lot that I did not appreciate about the weather (an awful lot!), the opportunity to walk down the streets of a small town – snow covering everything – with a group of carolers was one of the times I liked. Some Christmas songs seem written for settings like that.

  23. betty driebergen says:

I love almost all Christmas music

  24. Matt Snyder says:

I like the ‘do you hear what I hear’ song!

  25. Mike Gallien says:

I enjoy many Christmas songs, funny or serious. But, it MUST be upbeat to keep my attention. Hey, it’s a joyous time of the year…no sad songs here. Keep the beat and music going. Even the slower songs shouldn’t drag. And I enjoy the whimsical also. I even believe Jesus laughs at some of our efforts.

  26. Kara DeWitt says:

We are really enjoying the new Duck the Halls CD….just throwing it out there!

  27. Becky Seibert says:

  28. Linda Jackson says:

I’ve always loved The Coventry Carol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-X17KyfLB0

  29. Jesse Roberts says:

Gotta say my favorite album is a tossup between Chris Rice’s LP and Josh Grobans “Noel” album. He definitely made me love some songs I never particularly liked before.

  30. CarolBeth says:

What, no “The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen”? FORSOOTH!

  31. mike cooper says:

My favorite Christmas album of all time is Twisted Christmas by Twisted Sister. They actually made me like a couple songs I’ve hated forever.

  32. Scott Riggan says:

Mike Cooper is our winner! Thanks for voting and commenting!
